About this converter
SRT (SubRip Text) is the subtitle format almost everything supports. Each entry is a sequence number plus a timecode range (say, 00:01:23,456 --> 00:01:26,890) followed by a line or two of dialogue. Video players, editors, streaming platforms: SRT works with basically all of them.
Plain text is what you want when the timestamps are just noise: dropping a lecture transcript into a document, running a word count, or pasting the dialogue into a translation tool that chokes on SRT syntax. Timestamps stripped, just the words left.

- Sequence numbers, the HH:MM:SS,mmm --> HH:MM:SS,mmm timestamp lines, and the blank lines between cues. What's left is just the dialogue, written straight to the output file.

- Yes. The .txt file opens straight in any text editor, Google Docs, or Word. From there you can edit it, translate it, or search it, with no extra conversion step.
- My SRT file contains HTML tags like <i> or <b> — will they be removed?
- No, those get carried over as-is. If you want plain text with no markup at all, open the output in a text editor afterward and find-and-replace the tags out.
